Yesterday I photographed engagement photos for Malia and Keith. They are both so sweet. I even found out that they met on a blind date. I never thought blind dates could lead to marriage….(at least they don’t on the show). All kidding aside, these two are so cute together and we had a lot of fun just spending the afternoon taking photos. I look forward to sharing in their wedding day and meeting all of their family and friends!

This Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Christy and Brian’s wedding at the beautiful Villa del sol D’oro in Sierra Madre. It is such a great location with lots of great photo opportunities. Their ceremony was held on the lawn near the fountain surrounded by their guests. Dinner was held on the terrace which was lit by white globe lights and candles. My favorite was the mini pots of rosemary on each table…. I know the guests really enjoyed the cupcake tower which was baked by the ever so talented Bee’s Knees Bakery (Annette Hatch works there and she is a former bride of ours…good job Annette!!!) Christy and Brian ended the evening with a ton of great dance songs and even a tribute to Brian’s namesake (ha ha ha)…… Brian Adams’ “Everything I do, I do it for you”, which made us all laugh. Congratulations you two….

Andrea and I headed down to San Diego this weekend to photograph Kem and Philip’s rehearsal dinner and wedding. Kem and Philip have known each other since they were little kids and are now starting their life together with Kem’s four children. During the ceremony the minister brought Brock, Gunner, Margo, and Marianne up to the alter with Kem and Philip to bless them all as a family. The reception followed at the Lodge at Torrey Pines which is rich with Craftsmen style architecture and old world style. The open fireplaces and libraries created the feeling the you were snuggled in a lodge in Scotland or Ireland. The surrounding greens made a beautiful backdrop for photographs.

Yesterday I met Amy and Terry with their two dogs Lucy and Mackey to shoot their engagement photos. These two are so playful and so natural in front of the camera. We really had a great time taking advantage of all the wonderful architecture on the campus. Afterward we drove north to Leo Carillo for some beach shots. It was definitely worth the drive. The scenery was amazing and we caught a beautiful sunset. And Amy and Terry were great sports getting sandy and running through the water. Thanks for the fun you two. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in November.

Red Loft Studios will be opening a San Francisco branch next year. It will be headed up by Tammy and Nikki and I’ll be shooting up there as well. We’re in San Fran right now getting together photos for the site. I thought I’d share our hilarious outing in the city wearing wedding dresses. (I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my life!) Believe me, we got plenty of stares and even some tourists taking pictures. A few people even congratulated the three of us….! We can’t wait to expand into the beautiful city of San Francisco. Watch out….here comes the Red Loft Studios crew…..
