Jana and Chris chose Rancho Los Lomas for its classic Spanish architecture and unique landscape complete with fountains, gardens, and exotic animals.  Guests were encouraged to explore the grounds and take in the scenery throughout the wedding festivities.  Jana and Chris added their own personal touch to the already beautiful site with potted orchids which were once grown by Jana’s grandfather, a string quartet that filled the Rancho with music (a nod to Chris’ musical talents),  and a candlelit family style dinner. Jana’s most unique touch was her hand beaded Swarovski
crystal bouquet.  Both Jana and Chris spent literally months creating each bouquet and boutonniere for the bridal party. All in all it was a completely unique and beautiful wedding to celebrate Jana and Chris’ love for each other.

Friday I had a wonderfully entertaining afternoon photographing Jacob, Lucas, Micah, Jay and Christi aka the Dysart Family. Jay is one of the creative geniuses behind our website so I knew that I would have a blast trying new and fun ways to shoot his family portraits. Jacob, Lucas and Micah were such wonderful and cooperative models. I had so much fun getting to know them and finding ways to capture each one’s unique personality. Check out some of Red Loft Studios’ favorite moments from my afternoon spent with the Dysart Family.

This past Saturday Andrea and I headed to the Cal State Long Beach Japanese Garden to photograph Christine and Kyle’s wedding. They’ve been together since high school, nearly 10 years. What a cute couple! And the Japanese garden is the perfect setting for a beautiful ceremony. It has a koi pond surrounded by bamboo and other amazing flowers and foliage. It really made for some great photo ops. Andrea and I had such a fun time sharing the daywith these two. Congratulations!

Friends and family flew in from all over the U.S. to join Taleen and Michael for their intimate ceremony overlooking the bay. The beautiful Highlands Inn in Carmel was the perfect venue for the occasion. It was the place a year earlier where Michael proposed to Taleen. The entire day was filled with an abundance of laughter and love. As the evening went on the couple joined their family and friends and danced the night away.

Last Sunday Kat and I had the pleasure of photographing engagement portraits for Chris and Tian. I love downtown L.A. on the weekends…you feel like you have the whole place to yourself and the weather was finally on our side, so we went for it.
Chris and Tian were looking for a modern feel to their portraits so I tried to capture the many cityscapes and the angles that the area has to offer.
With both of them having modeled in the past all I had to do was find the locations and they took care of the rest.
…a great way to spend an afternoon!

This past Saturday I met Jennifer and Mark at the Ebell in Long Beach to photograph their wedding. They have such a unique story.  They actually went to high school together and even went to the prom together (but just as friends). Ten years later at their reunion sparks flew and they finally got together. And now here they are, a happily married couple.  They had such a beautiful and fun wedding. I was honored to have been a part of it.
