Saturday Suemee and Ritsu hosted friends and family at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica to celebrate their marriage. The Fairmont’s lush gardens created a relaxed but intimate vibe for the ceremony. Vows were exchanged at sunset and then guests were treated to an amazing night of dinner, dancing and gaming! Suemee and Ritsu brought in so many details, which honored their families’ heritages. Half way through the reception Suemee and Ritsu changed in to traditional Japanese wedding wear and toasted to their guests with sake poured through a koi inspired ice sculpture. Suemee’s beautiful kimono was borrowed from Ritsu mother who wore it in her twenties. My favorite moments of the evening came straight from the heart. As a surprise to Suemee, Ritsu not only learned to play the piano but also to sing is Korean and serenaded Suemee. Not to be outdone by the groom, the groomsmen performed “More Than Words†by Eric Clapton. Later in the evening guests enjoyed mini green tea cheesecakes handmade by Ritsu. The night was just getting started and Suemee had on her second gorgeous wedding gowns when Charity and I waved goodbye. No doubt the newlyweds and their guests continued to eat, drink and merry into the wee hours of the morning. Congratulations to Suemee and Ritsu!!!
