Jenny and Tammy’s “Womantic” Tahitian Honeymoon

» Jenny
Jenny

Ok, I know our jobs are hard….yes, Tammy and I did go to Tahiti to shoot a wedding. We had a lot of fun with Chandra and Michael but Tammy and I also had a lot of fun on our time off. Although the island of Morea is a quiet honeymoon spot, Tammy and I were still able to create some noise and have a blast. Tammy even learned how to ride a scooter….and crash one too! I wanted a Vespa to put around Long Beach, but I have subsequently changed my mind! Here are a few pics of the fun we had while “working”.

Kym and Mike

On Saturday I shot Kym and Mike’s wedding at the El Dorado Golf Club in Long Beach. It was a beautiful heartfelt ceremony that was both short and sweet exactly how Kym and Mike wanted it. Afterwards we were able to grab a few shots with the sunset which made for some really stunning light. Then it was on to the reception where everyone broke it down on the dance floor. This crowd knows how to party! What a fun night. Congratulations you two!

Tahiti Adventure

» Tammy
Tammy

The next day after Chandra and Michael’s wedding ceremony in Tahiti, we decided to explore the island a bit and see what we could find. And it’s no surprise that we found more beautiful beaches, breathtaking country side, and amazing moutain views. I love that Chandra and Michael are so adventurous. They were down for whatever. I had them blazing through a mud path, walking through fields of grass, and even standing next to livestock at one point. These two don’t mess around when it comes to getting the shot. Thanks you guys for being such great sports. I had a blast!

Chandra and Michael in Tahiti

» Tammy
Tammy

Last week Jenny and I had the pleasure of flying to Tahiti to photograph the marriage of Chandra and Michael. We stayed on the island of Morrea at the Pearl Resort and Spa. This South Pacific paradise is exactly that. I was in awe of the crystal clear blue waters, breathtaking sunsets, and relaxed island life. This gettaway was a one of a kind. Chandra and Michael did it right with an intimate ceremony Tahitian style on the beach with only their closest friends and family. They each were escorted seperately to the ceremony site via canoe. While in transit live rythmic drums echoed along with the tones of a conch shell which set a very exciting mood. I actually got chills! The ceremony was something far short of unique. It consisted of Polynesian dancers, an officiant dressed as a warrior, and several other Tahitian rituals including coconut milk being poured on their joined hands. It truly was an amazing sight that I was honored to be a part of. I wish Chandra and Michael the best in their future and thank them for such a wonderful experience. Congratulations!

Two Scoops of Love at Candice and Alan’s Kellogg House Wedding

» Katie
Katie

Saturday Candice and Alan invited friends and family to join them at the Kellogg House in celebration of their wedding.  Candice, who is an architect and an alumni of Cal Poly Pamona loved the home for its detail and charm.  The house was originally built in 1926 by the same architect who designed the Huntington Library for W.K. Kellogg of cereal fame.  Guests enjoyed guided tours of the house by staff during cocktail hour while we roamed the grounds and found some truly unique photo opportunities.  Candice and Alan embraced the history of the Kellogg family by including bowls of Rice Crispies and Corn Flakes as favors for their guests.   My favorite moment of the day was when James Brown’s “I feel Good” signaled the end of the ceremony and the start of the celebration.  The house was a perfect setting for this classically beautiful wedding with modern twists.  Congratulations to Alan and Candice!

Becky & Daniel’s Double Happiness

» Katie
Katie

Sunday Charity and I had the pleasure of being a part of Becky and Daniel’s wedding at Padua Hills Theater in Claremont.  I got to know these two during our engagement session/shopping outing in Chinatown and I must say I fell in love with them as a couple.   Becky and  Daniel are never without smiles on their faces or laughter in their hearts.  During our engagement session I got to hear all the plans for their red and orange Chinese accented wedding and I was so excited to see how it all came together.  From the orange and red lanterns to the Chinese food take out box favors to fantastic orange socks the groomsmen wore, each detail set the mood for a totally fun wedding full of personality.  Of course my favorite event of the wedding (aside from getting to photograph such an animated and playful couple) was the photo booth.  As guests entered the wedding they jumped in the booth and cheesed it up for the cameras.  Their photos served as the guest book and I bet Becky and Daniel will have laughs for years looking at their family and friends funny photos. Charity and I had a blast at this wedding.  Congratulations to Becky and Daniel!
