Dorothy and Derek’s wedding at Strawberry Farms

» Andrea
Andrea

Dorothy and Derek held their wedding last weekend at Strawberry Farms Golf Course in Irvine. They both grew up in the Midwest so this was a perfect location to make them feel at home, just not as cold. All of their friends and family were present while their ceremony took place over looking the green rolling hills of the golf course. The only one missing was the beloved Boone Brown, Dorothy and Derek’s adorable puppy dog. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him yet but we plan on doing a family portrait real soon. After the ceremony everyone gathered in the big red barn to continue celebrating. Dorothy was so sweet, instead of throwing her bouquet, she handed it to her best friend and decided she would be the one who gets married next!

Modern Love with a Vintage Twist

» Katie
Katie

When Megan, Jon and I discussed ideas for their engagement photo session we thought of playful and quirky ideas that would represent their fun/arty selves. Megan brought up the idea of heading to Pomona’s Art/Antique district where we could use the vintage Americana main street as a backdrop for our photo shoot. I loved the mid century feel of the architecture, antiques, clothing, and even cars which inspired us to get funky and try out some new ideas. I really felt like this shoot was a collaboration of our three artistic visions. Megan and Jon were awesome and willing try anything and everything. I am so looking forward to seeing what these two have in store for their wedding!

Check out some of our Red Loft Studios favorite shots of Megan and Jon getting funky below…

Megan & Jon definitely looked the part so we couldn’t resist placing them among all the vintage goodies.

The Whole Tooth, And Nothing But the Tooth!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the Lopez family at their home in Irvine. Dr. Lopez is a dentist who saves the teeth of our children at his office in Newport Beach (Newport Pediatric Dentistry). Dr. Lopez and his family are so adorable and we had a lot of fun traipsing around the neighborhood shooting photographs and just getting to know each other better.

Heather and JT

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Heather and JT’s engagement photos at Paramount Ranch in Malibu. This place is so cool. Paramount has used this ranch for many of it’s movies over the past 60 years. Although most of the old sets are gone, there’s a Western Town left for visitors to admire. And we took full advantage of this Old West town. What a fun place to shoot. There’s a Main Street lined with old store fronts from a saloon to a post office. You really feel like you’re in the Old West. After grabbing a few shots here we headed down to Zuma Beach to wrap up the day and catch the sunset. This is also a wonderful place to shoot. We played on the rocks a bit and took a few shots down on the sand as well. And what an amazing sunset! Kudos to Heather and JT for picking some really fabulous spots. I can’t wait to see them again in April at the Malibu Lake Club.

I left my heart in San Francisco…or was it my business card?

» Jenny

On a cold Sunday in Januray, Nikki, Tammy and I participated in a wonderful bridal event at the Regency Center in San Francisco. The Regency Center is such a great location in the city. It used to be an old Masonic Temple so it has several ornate ballrooms to hold venues. It even has an old fashion elevator that is pretty fun to ride in (with the help of an attendant!). We got to meet some really great couples and hear some fabulous details about their weddings. We also got to meet some phenominal wedding vendors as well. The calibur of vendors at this event was amazing. We had such a fun time and made some really great friends. We feel so honored to be a new venture in the city by the bay!

Here are some of our Red Loft Studios favorite shots of our day…

Kristen, Danny, and Chaslyn

» Tammy

Last weekend I had the pleasure of driving up to Big Sur to photograph Kristen, Danny, and Chaslyn for some engagement/family photos. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday! The Northern California coast is so beautiful I could hardly stop snapping shots. We started out at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park to get some woodsy photos then we headed further north and grabbed some beach shots in the middle of Pebble Beach’s 17 mile drive. This whole stretch of coastline is absolutely breathtaking and we took advantage of it. These three were hiking trails and scaling rocks with me just to get the good shots… So fun! And this family of three were not only adventurous, they were also great in front of the camera. Especially Miss Chaslyn who is an absolute doll. I’m looking forward to seeing them all again in August at the wedding.
