Meghan and Mo Say “I do”

» Andrea

Last Saturday marks the anniversary of Meghan and Mo. Their wedding ceremony took place at the Pepperdine Chapel. Not only is the Pepperdine Chapel an absolutely beautiful chapel, but Pepperdine is also where the couple met so it was the perfect place to say “I do”. Tammy and I started at the Westlake Village Inn where Meghan and her bridesmaids where getting ready. Our jaws dropped when we saw Meghan’s dress. It was gorgeous and that was just on the hanger! That dress was made for her, she looked so beautiful. As we were taking photos of the happy bride and bridesmaids, Meghan’s chariot arrived and she rode to the chapel in style. Waiting patiently at the chapel was Mo… minus the hawk. After their ceremony the party continued at Inn of the 7th Ray in Topanga Canyon. I love this area, it has such a charm to it. You just feel happy there.
I hope everyone at Meghan and Mo’s wedding had as much fun as Tammy and I did!

Michelle & Tony’s Hotel Laguna Wedding

» Katie

A long time ago (Saturday) in a galaxy far far away (Laguna Beach) Michelle and Tony exchanged vows in front of family and friends and then partied the night away seaside at the Hotel Laguna. Michelle and Tony spent 18 months planning their dream wedding. They thought of every detail and along with the help of their friends and family they pulled off one amazing wedding. The cake, the flowers, the invitations…all of the little things that make each wedding unique were created by Michelle and Tony with assistance from their friends and family. Most importantly Tony’s mom handmade Michelle’s beautiful gown along with the bridesmaids lavender dresses. I have two favorite moments from the wedding. First when Michelle and Tony walked into the reception to the Star Wars theme song (I’m a huge fan), and then hearing “the Lobster Story.” Just like in the t.v. show Friends, Tony found “his lobster” (his mate for life) in Michelle. Little lobsters could be found all throughout the wedding. In Tony’s cufflinks, on Michelle’s garter, even in the arms of Michael the ring bearer. Congratulations you lobsters!!!!

Tony’s nephew Michael really got into the lobster theme.

Dorothy and David Celebrate in Laguna Beach

I joined Dorothy and David’s families on Friday night at the Chaparosa Grill to kick off their wedding weekend. It was great getting to know everyone before the wedding on Saturday. I felt like part of their family. Dorothy and David are truly lucky to have such great people in their lives. Not only did these people make sure they were there to celebrate on their day, but they also helped plan the wedding. Yes, that’s right… plan the wedding! From the cake to the flowers to the favors… it was all taken care of. Well, not all of it…but Dorothy and David decided to go with their gut on the rest of the planning. They went with the first location they looked at, Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach which had it all. Dorothy decided on the first dress she tried on. How could she not… she looked gorgeous in it! They also went with the first photographer, good choice on that one guys! The wedding was perfect and the newlyweds enjoyed every minute of it.

Congratulations from Red Loft Studios!

A few wedding must haves!

Elizabeth & Pete’s Caribbean Wedding Extravaganza

This past week Charity and I had the absolute pleasure of joining Elizabeth and Pete along with their family and friends on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands for a wedding extravaganza. After hopping two planes and a ferry we were greeted by a tanned and smiling Elizabeth on the dock of the fabulous Westin resort. We were told to sit back and relax and enjoy the wedding weekend’s festivities. We had a blast snorkeling, swimming, sightseeing and just plain lime’n (local term for hanging out). Elizabeth and Pete did such a fantastic job setting up a beautiful weekend for their guests. We began with an engagement photo session at a local secluded beach near where Pete proposed. Later we joined the party boat to St. Thomas for an over the top dinner at Havana Blue. I loved how even the rehearsal dinner was an adventure and the food was to die for. Every amazing moment lead up to a wedding day that truly took my breath away. Elizabeth looked so beautiful in her Vera Wang gown. She was the perfect beach bride. She even hiked up her Vera Wang and tip toed through the ocean so that we could get our fantastic beach shots. Now that is what I call an awesome bride! Pete and Elizabeth are so cute together. We had so much fun finding spots along the island to take photos. The ceremony took place on the beach at Trunk Bay. Guests ditched their shoes and took their places in the sand to watch Elizabeth and Pete say “I do.” I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful spot to have a wedding. The party moved down the shore back to the Westin for dining and dancing on the sand and under the stars. We had so much fun during the weekend wedding celebration. I can’t thank Pete and Elizabeth enough for having us be part of their special day. Congratulations you two!!!!

Vicki and Tom in San Diego

» Tammy

Yesterday I met up with Vicki and Tom in San Diego to shoot their engagement photos. We had so much fun! We started out at Balboa Park which is just gorgeous. It’s the nation’s largest cultural park and if you haven’t been there you must go. It’s surrounded with beautiful architecture, facades, gardens, and has several museums… lot’s of amazing culture! Afterwards we headed to La Jolla cove which is the most photographed beach in Southern California and I can see why. The cliffs jet out over the ocean and the whole spot is just full of amazing color. The cove is also very special to Vicki and Tom. One of the cliffs in particular is where there love story started. It was one of the first times they were hanging out together and they both got drenched by a wave which actually almost happened to me when I was grabbing the last shot. Whoo, I really dodged a bullet there… I’ll do anything for a great shot. Congratulations Vicki and Tom, can’t wait to see you again in August.
