Nicole & Oliver’s Beyond Fabulous Wedding

» Katie
Katie

This past weekend Eva and I ventured to the east coast for Nicole and Oliver’s wedding at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Connecticut. Friends and family flew in from all over the US and Scotland to celebrate with Nicole and Oliver on their big day. Nicole looked beyond fabulous in her beaded satin gown, but I must say that she did have some competition from her husband in his family kilt. Put the two together and you get not only one good looking couple but probably two of the sweetest people you could ever meet. I think I had tears in my eyes all day because they just glowed from all the love. Eva and I had so much fun sharing in the day with Nicole and Oliver and their friends and family.
A few of my favorite moments from the day include Nicole and her mom walking hand in hand down the aisle to meet Oliver, the bride and groom starting the party with ACDC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long,” Nicole’s brothers taking turns dancing with the bride to Paul Simon’s “Father and Daughter,” Oliver’s 91 year old kilt clad grandfather tearing up the dance floor, and of course the multi flavored multi tiered wedding cake made by one of Nicole’s maids of honor (I had two pieces). Congratulations you two thank you for including us in your awesome wedding.

Danielle and Jared at the Hollywood Roosevelt

» Tammy

On Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing Danielle and Jared’s Hollywood Roosevelt wedding. This is such a beautiful location with tons of Old Hollywood history and charm. Danielle looked incredible in her floor length silk gown and exuded movie star status. When Jared saw her for the first time he got a little teary-eyed… I can’t blame the guy. We spent the afternoon shooting in the garden, in the lobby and even on the roof of this amazing structure. We got some great romantic shots! It wasn’t hard to do with these two… they’re so comfortable with each other and not to mention cute as a button. After photos it was off to cocktail hour and then the late night ceremony which was lit by candle light. It was exquisite! I can’t say enough about this beautifully detailed wedding… it really was breathtaking. And so are Danielle and Jared. Congratulations you two!

Here are a few of our Red Loft Studios favorites.

Valley Club of Montecito Wedding

On Saturday Charity and I photographed the wedding of Mary and Craig in Montecito at the gorgeous Valley Club of Montecito. The club is tucked away into the hills above Santa Barbara and it was the perfect setting for a woodsy yet beachside wedding. Mary and Craig are avid outdoors people who love to hike and bike and share a love for triathalons. They are “Ironpeople” having both competed in the Ironman Triathalon, so you can imagine how important it was to get married in the perfect outdoor setting. Well it was just that….perfect! Mary looked so naturally beautiful with her hair full of gardenias and Craig was her perfect match in a very sleek pin stripe suit and paisley tie. Guests celebrated their marriage into the night with tons of dancing, goofy photos in the photo booth, and nibbles of candy at the “help yourself” candy bar. Now it’s off to Mount Blanc for Mary and Craig to go conquer another adventure in the French Alps for their honeymoon! We wish you all the best guys…..

Here are a few of our Red Loft Studios favorites.

Lilies of the Valley were the flowers in the bouquet and boutonniere.

For the past 2 days I have been in San Diego photographing portraits of the Paul Mitchell professionals at their Downtown San Diego school. Everyone that works for the school is so creative and funky that I wanted to take photos that were just as fun and quirky as they are. I think we really captured the true essence of the professionals behind the bottle (that’s the Paul Mitchell slogan!). Take a peek at some of our Red Loft Studios favorites from the shoot.
