Yesterday I got to shoot some really fun engagement photos for Katrina and Patrick. They’re big movie buffs so they decided to have their pictures done at The Art Theatre in Long Beach. We had such a good time with this idea. They brought all sorts of props including some 3D glasses to really authenticate the experience. And the theatre was so accommodating that they even popped some fresh popcorn for us to use. Katrina and Patrick really got into it and hammed up all the shots. They were great! Then to switch it up a bit we headed to the pier for some outdoor shots on the beach. And although it was windy it was a gorgeous day. The sky was bright blue and the sun was shining. What an awesome shoot! Thanks for all the fun you two and I’ll see you again at the wedding.

Marlynn and Jam are high school sweethearts who are starting a new chapter in their love story with a wedding this fall. I met up with them in Long Beach for a pre wedding engagement session. We found some amazing photo spots around the harbor starting with the Aquarium of the Pacific. Marlynn and Jam are both ocean lovers and we talked about their pet clown fish and plans for a scuba diving filled honeymoon as we photographed amongst the sea creatures. We took our photo party along the boardwalk and down to the beach and enjoyed the sunset as we finished up our engagement session. I loved getting to know Marlynn and Jam and hearing all about their plans for the big day. I can’t wait for October to see all their plans come to life.

Today I hung out with the cutest couple, Roya and Jeff, to shoot their engagement photos. We decided to start out at the El Dorado Nature Center so that we could capture the winter leaves on the ground and hike around the lake. It was a fun little trek and Roya did great following me up the hills and through the mud in her cute heels. (Jeff did great as well, but he wasn’t wearing heels so he’s not getting much sympathy.) I thought a nice contrast to the Nature Center would be the beach so we headed to Seal Beach to hit the pier. WOW….was it cold! OK, I know it’s winter, but I’m telling you, it was chilly. It was still a blast taking photos in the wind and I have to say, Roya and Jeff are such naturals. The camera definitely picked up on their love for each other. You can really see it in the photos. They just melt together like they were made for each other. I almost don’t want to say this, but they made my job so easy! I was so excited about the images that we got and I’m so excited to share them on the blog. Here are a few of our Red Loft Studios favorites.
