Tanya and Seth’s sea side vows

» Jenny
Jenny

I spent a gorgeous weekend on the cliffs of Torrey Pines State Reserve photographing the sea side wedding of Tanya and Seth. Tanya is the sister of Taleen (a former Red Lofter) so it was nice to see some of the same faces in the crowd! Tanya looked so beautiful in her dress and I absolutely loved the belt/sash that she wore. Tanya added that touch on her own. After all, she is a designer! Seth looked equally as spectacular in a tan suit and he wore the HUGEST smile all day. It was his best accessory. Tanya’s creativity was also evident in her details of the day. The centerpieces were so creative and colorful and I absolutely loved her flower choices. Tanya’s parent’s house set the tone for the perfect intimate wedding reception where guests were free to dance, sing, and eat their hearts out! A good time was had by all…including me!

Aidan turns one!

» Jenny
Jenny

Former Red Lofters Dana and Paul had a baby boy! Aidan was born 1 year ago and to commemorate his fabulous first year, we took some photos of the little guy. He is so cute! This was his first time at the beach so it was also another reason to document the day. Although the sand was interesting and all, I think the swings won his affection. Once we hit those, the smiles started pouring in. It was great to have some time with Aidan and I’m so excited we were able to capture some of his adorable personality. Congratulations you guys.

Surf’s up in Manhattan Beach

» Jenny
Jenny

On Tuesday I photographed the cutest couple! And by cute I mean beach body cute! They both donned their swimsuits and hit the beach for some true California beach photos. Tommy is a surfer and so we grabbed his board and headed down to the water. Kate doesn’t surf but she enjoys the beach just as much as Tommy. Tommy is even going to be on Shark Week because he actually encountered a shark in the So Cal water. But he came out unscathed, thank God! That would be the end of my surfing career but Tommy is truly dedicated. I had such a great time hanging out with the two of them. They are both so playful and we got some great photos to capture their senses of humor. Just check out some of our Red Loft Studios favorites below.

Childhood friends grow up and fall in love

» Jenny
Jenny

Last weekend I photographed the wedding of Kelly and Ryan in Palos Verdes. They have such a cute story. They were friends growing up (and even have a ton of pictures of the two of them) and fell in love in their college years. You can definitely tell that they have a lifelong love for each other in the way that they interact. The are super sweet and loving to one another but not in an overly mushy way. They just mesh! It’s hard to explain, but when I see them together I just get the impression that they have a lot of fun together. And they are both so warm and welcoming. I felt like an old friend to both of them. It was a ton of fun being a part of their special day. I love the photos we got. So fun, fresh and laid back just like them. Thanks guys! I wish you all the best for your next journey together as husband and wife.

One of our own ties the knot

» Jenny

Sorry boys! Our very own Red Loft photographer Katie is officially off the market. We are so excited for her and Brian and we took a million and half photos to commemorate the joyous day. Eva hit up the guys getting ready at the house while I hung out with the girls at the loft (yes Katie got ready for her wedding at work….such dedication!). The momentous day was made even more special since Katie and Brian were married at the Long Beach home Katie lived in when she was little. The gorgeous old home from the 1920′s called Wuthering Heights (said to be haunted by the ghost of Clark Gable) was decorated with daisys, candles, antique vases, and vibrant oil cloth place runners set upon rustic wood tables. Think Anthropologie ladies. Ahhh, and the ceremony…I know I’m normally a sap during wedding ceremonies, but I was especially moved by their ceremony. It was so sweet and tender and I love the fact that when Katie walked down the aisle to see Brian she kissed him right away! Not to mention the fact that their two dogs were their flower girl and ring bearer. They truly are a perfect match and you just know they are going to be laughing together for their whole lives. I am so happy for the two of them and feel so honored to have been their photographer. I love you guys!

Rockin’ it at La Venta Inn

» Jenny
Jenny

Last weekend I photographed the ultra hip wedding of Lauren and Christopher at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes. Lauren is in a band and all of her bridesmaids were fabulously colorful. Literally. They had the most gorgeous tattoos and it made for some very vibrant photos. Christopher even mixed things up with having one of his grooms men actually be a grooms girl. She was lovin’ it and we got some great photos with her and the guys. I always love when couple’s add a touch of their playful personalities into their day and that’s exactly what they did. From Chris’s vintage car handpainted with “Just Married” on the back, to his spark plug cuff links, Lauren and Christopher’s personalities were everywhere. It was such a pleasure to meet all of their family and friends and spend the day with Lauren and Christopher. Congratulations you two. You make a gorgeous husband and wife!
