Craig and Mary: Love in the Garden.

Last week I met up with Craig and Mary to shoot their engagements. We started at Mary’s Aunts house in West L.A. Her Aunt has an amazing garden in both the front and back of her house with all sorts of nooks and crannies to take pictures in. The gardens’ colors and textures made for an ideal backdrop for our photo session. After we were done in the garden we strolled the neighborhood for a few sunset shots. These two kept making me laugh our entire shoot. They really are as cute together as they look. Congrats you two!

Cynthia and Andre’s Downtown Wedding

Two Fridays ago I had the pleasure of photographing Cynthia and Andres wedding at Cicada in Downtown Los Angeles. These two met in High School and have been crazy in love with each other ever since. They started their day having breakfast together then I loved how they got ready in adjoining rooms at the Biltmore. They stood in the middle of their closest friends and family during the romantic ceremony. We had so much fun walking around Downtown snapping photos, they both have so much energy and couldn’t stop smiling. After the ceremony, the party got started and the entire room filled with people danced the night away.

I am so happy for you guys. Congrats!

On Sunday I got a chance to hangout with Cynthia and Andre to shoot their engagements. We started at El Dorado Park for a woodsy nature feel then we headed to Seal Beach for romantic sunset shots. It was the first time in awhile they had time off together, as you can see in the pictures they couldnt stop kissing, hugging, or holding hands. This couple has known each other since high school and still are crazy about each other. I had so much fun with them I cant wait until their wedding next month in Downtown Los Angeles.

Park[ing] Day L.A.

Todays the first annual Park[ing] Day LA which was started in San Francisco by the Rebar Group “to rethink the way streets are used, call attention to the need for urban parks, and improve the quality of urban human habitat….at least until the meter runs out!
“-Rebar Group

Our neighbor Andreas from Anthem Magazine was hosting a meter complete with BBQ and Dog Park. Jenny and I decided to head downtown and join in the festivities.

We’re looking forward to having our own Red Loft meter spot next year!

Meet The Christophers

On Sunday I spent the morning with the Christopher family at El Dorado’s Nature Center. It was the perfect backdrop for this adorable family. Little man Tate had so much energy, we chased him around the entire shoot. He had this amazing vintage looking car that he was riding along the path. We first got to know Jen and John a few years ago when we shot their wedding and then got to know them better when Jen’s company JLoop designed our awesome website. It’s always fun to watching our client’s families grow. I had so much fun with this energetic family I can’t wait for next time.

Nuke and Crash Take on North Carolina

» Charity

Since we were lucky enough to travel across the country to photograph Ben and Becky’s wedding we took the opportunity to soak up some more Southern charm. Being that Bull Durham is one of our favorite movies naturally our first stop was the Durham Bulls stadium. The rain clouds parted long enough to indulge in dogs and funnel cake while enjoying America’s favorite pastime. We headed to Chapel Hill for a bbq dinner and happened upon a performance of one of Katie’s favorites, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It was the perfect venue a small coffee shop off the beaten path. We couldn’t stop smiling; it was a wonderfully random night. If that wasn’t enough we capped off the night with a Bridezilla marathon on the Oxygen network. Which made us so thankful for our brides. Monday morning we woke up and took a photo adventure in through the woods near Duke University. A wonderful wedding, great food, lots of laughter, new friends, and dozens of memories made. North Carolina will always bring up giggles and hold a special place in our hearts.

We both thought that if we lived here, and jogged, this road would make for a great jogging trail, but since we don’t do either it was a nice drive.
