Meagan and Ryan at the Malibu Nature Preserve

Tammy and I drove up to Malibu on Saturday to photograph the wedding of Meagan and Ryan.
Their wedding took place at the Malibu Nature Preserve and the location had an absolutely gorgeous view. As if being in Malibu wasn’t enough, all of the guests were caravanned to the very top of the nature preserve. It was the perfect amount of sun, breeze and bright, blue sky. It looked like someone had painted a backdrop for them. We couldn’t have asked for a better location.
After the wedding Meagan and Ryan had a great added detail, cigar rollers. It was such a great idea! There’s just certain things you need to celebrate with a cigar and marriage is one of them.

Congratulations you guys! Here are a few of our Red Loft favorites.

Life’s a Beach

Photographing Jackie and Mark last weekend at the beach was so much fun. We all got to spend a day in the sun. Mark originally popped the question under the pier in Hermosa Beach so we started there to celebrate their engagement, but we didn’t just go to the beach for the waves and the sand. We went for all the other fun beach activities too. We rented bikes, shared a pizza and topped it all of with some cotton candy. The only thing missing was the mustard, right Jackie?
I can’t wait for the wedding you guys! Thanks for a fun day!

Someone to Watch Over Me

Karen and David were so cute when Katie and I showed up to photograph them preparing for their big day. We loved the fact that their entire wedding party was getting ready in the same room. It’s not very often we get photos of the bride and groom helping each other get ready. The couple got married at the beautiful Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara. They decided on Santa Barbara because it is where David grew up and where the couple took their first vacation together. Karen and David are both musicians and their love of music was present throughout the day. The Santa Barbara String Quartet performed during their ceremony and their first dance song as husband and wife was Someone to Watch Over Me by Ella Fitzgerald. I love that song!
Who knows where the couple is celebrating now… David planned a surprise honeymoon for the two of them. I can’t wait to hear where they ended up!

Toni and Matt in Redondo Beach

» Andrea

Eva and I headed to Redondo Beach on Saturday to photograph the wedding of Toni and Matt.
The ceremony was held at St. James Parish. The church had high ceilings, stained glass windows and beautiful light. After the ceremony we didn’t let the heat stop us. We were off to the beach and pier for our fun photo session with the wedding party. Toni and Matt were so cute on their wedding day and were up for the photo challenge. We got some great shots! I love the shot of the beach behind them. A cool drink and a dance or two were needed now, so we skipped over to the Crown Plaza to make the party official.
Thanks for including Red Loft Studios in your special day.
Congratulations you guys!

One bride, one groom, one beautiful wedding

We started off at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills to document our bride and groom getting ready for their big day. After the dress was zipped and all the flowers were pinned we headed downstairs for family photos, but not before stopping in the foyer so that Ray and Suzanne could take their first glance at each other. I don’t know who looked happier, Ray or Suzanne. Their ceremony and reception were both held
at a beautiful Italian restaurant called Il Cielo which used to be someone’s home. The ceremony was held in the back courtyard of the cottage. The atmosphere of Il Cielo is so relaxed and almost dreamy. It truly feels like you are at a wedding in someone’s backyard. During dinner Ray and Suzanne had their first dinner as husband and wife under the same Chupah that they were married under. Then, after some great food, a few drinks and speeches, it was on to the hora. I loved watching the bride and grooms faces as they tried not to fall off their chairs, scared but are loving every minute of it… so great! The cake was eaten, dancing done, but that’s not all… So, what’s next? Il Cielo surely knows how to treat their guests. At the end of the wedding, they have a chariot for the bride and groom. It was a perfect send off. As Ray and Suzanne made their exit, their guests were lined up outside, ready to toss rose petals at them. After they walked through, all their guests lined up behind them and the wedding parade returned them to their hotel for the night. First in line of the chariot was an adorable accordion player who was singing Italian love songs. There were ribbons and candles and happy guests around all sides of the couple as they were safely retuned to the place where they started off their wedding day.

Meghan and Mo Say “I do”

» Andrea

Last Saturday marks the anniversary of Meghan and Mo. Their wedding ceremony took place at the Pepperdine Chapel. Not only is the Pepperdine Chapel an absolutely beautiful chapel, but Pepperdine is also where the couple met so it was the perfect place to say “I do”. Tammy and I started at the Westlake Village Inn where Meghan and her bridesmaids where getting ready. Our jaws dropped when we saw Meghan’s dress. It was gorgeous and that was just on the hanger! That dress was made for her, she looked so beautiful. As we were taking photos of the happy bride and bridesmaids, Meghan’s chariot arrived and she rode to the chapel in style. Waiting patiently at the chapel was Mo… minus the hawk. After their ceremony the party continued at Inn of the 7th Ray in Topanga Canyon. I love this area, it has such a charm to it. You just feel happy there.
I hope everyone at Meghan and Mo’s wedding had as much fun as Tammy and I did!
