Vanessa and Dan’s Wedding Day

» Andrea
Andrea

Last weekend Cara and I had the pleasure of photographing Vanessa and Dan on their wedding day. Dan and the groomsmen started off at The Jonathan Club downtown while the girls got ready at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood where the reception would take place as well. After we captured the bride and groom preparing for their big day, dress and bow tie in place, we headed to over to St. James Church. Dan was so adorable, he couldn’t wait to see his beautiful bride. Everyone kept telling him how gorgeous she looked in her dress but he waited patiently until she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was perfect, very heartfelt and full of tradition. Next, off to The Roosevelt in style. Vanessa and Dan’s guests hopped on the double decker british bus to start the celebration. We headed up to the penthouse for a few photos before joining the party. I think my favorite part of the whole day was when Dan decided to sing to Vanessa towards the end of the night. Just a few hours before Dan’s best man was sharing a great memory about Dan’s glorious singing abilities so everyone was very excited to be a part of the wonderful serenade to his new wife. Congratulations to Vanessa and Dan, here’s to a wonderful new life together.

Jackie and Mark’s Wedding

» Andrea
Andrea

Jackie and Mark’s wedding was last weekend and took place in Pasadena. I had been waiting for their wedding day ever since I met up with Jackie and Mark for their engagement session. We had so much fun getting to know each other and I knew their wedding would be a good time. The ceremony took place at The Holy Family Church. The church was gorgeous. It was designed and built in 1928, had tall ceilings and beautiful stain glass windows. Jackie and Mark’s ceremony was given by the same bishop that performed Mark’s parents ceremony when they got married. I think that is so sweet!
After the ceremony we wandered outside to take pictures and it was rainy but don’t worry, only the good kind. Just enough for good luck, not enough to ruin the day! The reception was held in the backyard of Mark’s parents house and it was just perfect. All of their planning really paid off. Jackie and Mark wowed their guests with their first dance and Jackie’s maid of honor made everyone cry with her heart felt speech… including me. Like the kids, I too love the mustard story Jackie!
Thanks for including Red Loft Studios on your amazing day!

Congratulations you guys!

Katie and Joe’s Excellent Wedding

» Andrea

Last Saturday Katherine and I drove up to Malibu to photograph Katie and Joe’s wedding at the beautiful Adamson House. I love this location and was instantly excited when the couple told me they were getting married there. When we arrived, Katie was just putting on her gorgeous Nicole Miller gown. She looked just stunning in it! After a few shots of the bride and groom getting ready for the day, it was time for the exchanging of the rings which was held on the lawn under the old sycamore tree, overlooking the ocean. Friends of the couple performed the service, played the piano as they walked down the aisle and read a poem during the ceremony. During the cocktail hour Katie and Joe’s guests spent some time touring the historic Adamson home while we took a stroll around the property photographing the newly married couple.
The rest of their evening was spent dancing, laughing and enjoying homemade cupcakes. Katherine and I spent the rest of the night making sure we captured just how much fun they were having.

Congratulations to Katie and Joe!

Meagan and Ryan at the Malibu Nature Preserve

Tammy and I drove up to Malibu on Saturday to photograph the wedding of Meagan and Ryan.
Their wedding took place at the Malibu Nature Preserve and the location had an absolutely gorgeous view. As if being in Malibu wasn’t enough, all of the guests were caravanned to the very top of the nature preserve. It was the perfect amount of sun, breeze and bright, blue sky. It looked like someone had painted a backdrop for them. We couldn’t have asked for a better location.
After the wedding Meagan and Ryan had a great added detail, cigar rollers. It was such a great idea! There’s just certain things you need to celebrate with a cigar and marriage is one of them.

Congratulations you guys! Here are a few of our Red Loft favorites.

Life’s a Beach

Photographing Jackie and Mark last weekend at the beach was so much fun. We all got to spend a day in the sun. Mark originally popped the question under the pier in Hermosa Beach so we started there to celebrate their engagement, but we didn’t just go to the beach for the waves and the sand. We went for all the other fun beach activities too. We rented bikes, shared a pizza and topped it all of with some cotton candy. The only thing missing was the mustard, right Jackie?
I can’t wait for the wedding you guys! Thanks for a fun day!

Someone to Watch Over Me

Karen and David were so cute when Katie and I showed up to photograph them preparing for their big day. We loved the fact that their entire wedding party was getting ready in the same room. It’s not very often we get photos of the bride and groom helping each other get ready. The couple got married at the beautiful Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara. They decided on Santa Barbara because it is where David grew up and where the couple took their first vacation together. Karen and David are both musicians and their love of music was present throughout the day. The Santa Barbara String Quartet performed during their ceremony and their first dance song as husband and wife was Someone to Watch Over Me by Ella Fitzgerald. I love that song!
Who knows where the couple is celebrating now… David planned a surprise honeymoon for the two of them. I can’t wait to hear where they ended up!
