One bride, one groom, one beautiful wedding

» Andrea
Andrea

We started off at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills to document our bride and groom getting ready for their big day. After the dress was zipped and all the flowers were pinned we headed downstairs for family photos, but not before stopping in the foyer so that Ray and Suzanne could take their first glance at each other. I don’t know who looked happier, Ray or Suzanne. Their ceremony and reception were both held
at a beautiful Italian restaurant called Il Cielo which used to be someone’s home. The ceremony was held in the back courtyard of the cottage. The atmosphere of Il Cielo is so relaxed and almost dreamy. It truly feels like you are at a wedding in someone’s backyard. During dinner Ray and Suzanne had their first dinner as husband and wife under the same Chupah that they were married under. Then, after some great food, a few drinks and speeches, it was on to the hora. I loved watching the bride and grooms faces as they tried not to fall off their chairs, scared but are loving every minute of it… so great! The cake was eaten, dancing done, but that’s not all… So, what’s next? Il Cielo surely knows how to treat their guests. At the end of the wedding, they have a chariot for the bride and groom. It was a perfect send off. As Ray and Suzanne made their exit, their guests were lined up outside, ready to toss rose petals at them. After they walked through, all their guests lined up behind them and the wedding parade returned them to their hotel for the night. First in line of the chariot was an adorable accordion player who was singing Italian love songs. There were ribbons and candles and happy guests around all sides of the couple as they were safely retuned to the place where they started off their wedding day.

Meghan and Mo Say “I do”

» Andrea

Last Saturday marks the anniversary of Meghan and Mo. Their wedding ceremony took place at the Pepperdine Chapel. Not only is the Pepperdine Chapel an absolutely beautiful chapel, but Pepperdine is also where the couple met so it was the perfect place to say “I do”. Tammy and I started at the Westlake Village Inn where Meghan and her bridesmaids where getting ready. Our jaws dropped when we saw Meghan’s dress. It was gorgeous and that was just on the hanger! That dress was made for her, she looked so beautiful. As we were taking photos of the happy bride and bridesmaids, Meghan’s chariot arrived and she rode to the chapel in style. Waiting patiently at the chapel was Mo… minus the hawk. After their ceremony the party continued at Inn of the 7th Ray in Topanga Canyon. I love this area, it has such a charm to it. You just feel happy there.
I hope everyone at Meghan and Mo’s wedding had as much fun as Tammy and I did!

Here are the ingredients to create a wedding similar to Meghan and Mo.

Dorothy and David Celebrate in Laguna Beach

» Andrea
Andrea

I joined Dorothy and David’s families on Friday night at the Chaparosa Grill to kick off their wedding weekend. It was great getting to know everyone before the wedding on Saturday. I felt like part of their family. Dorothy and David are truly lucky to have such great people in their lives. Not only did these people make sure they were there to celebrate on their day, but they also helped plan the wedding. Yes, that’s right… plan the wedding! From the cake to the flowers to the favors… it was all taken care of. Well, not all of it…but Dorothy and David decided to go with their gut on the rest of the planning. They went with the first location they looked at, Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach which had it all. Dorothy decided on the first dress she tried on. How could she not… she looked gorgeous in it! They also went with the first photographer, good choice on that one guys! The wedding was perfect and the newlyweds enjoyed every minute of it.

Congratulations from Red Loft Studios!

A few wedding must haves!

ABC Networking at the Riviera Country Club

Tammy and I attended our first ABC networking event last night and I must say, we were very impressed. The event was held at the Rivera County Club in the Pacific Palisades. It was also our first time at this location and I’m so glad we were able to see an event taking place there. It’s a great location for a wedding with a beautiful view, elegant rooms with tall ceilings and very friendly staff. The room also looked amazing due to the volunteer vendors at the event. The Rivera County Club provided the food. NancyKay provided the delicious cake treats that included homemade toffee. Katie, you would have been so jealous! The flowers were provided by Kate at Flower Wild. The Linens by Elegant Designs and our DJ for the night was Scott Topper. I think the highlight of the night was the raffle that Nesly organized. Which included a free ABC networking event, 6 months of advertising with Brides.com and many other prizes. We had a few big winners. It pays to stock up of raffle tickets people!
Thank you so much to Beth and Nesly who invited Red Loft Studios to be a part of this event.

Alyssa and Brett’s Backyard Wedding

» Andrea
Andrea

I knew right when I met Alyssa and Brett that they would be a blast to photograph. Brett’s mom told me “This couple is up for any fun photo you can think of” and she was right.
Charity and I started off with Alyssa at the Ayres Hotel in Seal Beach which had a vineyard bed and breakfast vibe. Alyssa looked just gorgeous in her dress and we got some great shots of the wedding party. The girls were wearing the 7 best pairs of party shoes I’ve ever seen and the guys were rocking their vans. After taking advantage of the hotel’s beautiful lobby, our next stop was to the lovely backyard ceremony site in Lakewood. Bryan their wedding coordinator did a great job with the details. The pool in the backyard was tempting to jump in but that’s for our next photo shoot! After the ceremony Brett’s Grandfather escorted our happy couple to their reception in his fabulous antique car. Alyssa and Brett’s reception was held at the Cerritos Performing Art Center. They had a photo booth brought in just for their guests and everyone was loving it. Even Charity and I couldn’t help ourselves. There are a few foolish photos of us floating around somewhere.

Toni and Matt

» Andrea

Shooting engagement portraits for Toni and Matt yesterday was so much fun. We felt like kids again hanging out at the USC campus. Their were activities going on everywhere you turned. Matt and Toni both went to school there and it’s also where they first met so course it made sense to start at the campus for their portraits. We were a little worried about rain but the most we got all day was just a few drops at a time. USC is a great location for portraits. There are beautiful buildings and archways everywhere you turn. Watch out for the squirrels though… they’ll eat your lunch for sure! Next we headed downtown to Union Station and the Disney Concert Hall. We wanted to capture the more serious, romantic side of downtown and got some great shots at both locations.
