El Cielo Bridal Shower

On Tuesday I made my way to Beverly Hills to the beautiful El Cielo Resturaunt for a bridal shower. The bridal shower was for Sarah and Shervin who’s wedding is later this month. It was a great location to host a bridal shower because it is very intimate. Sarah had a suprise when Shervin showed up with all of the guys to sit and have dinner. Once Shervin arrived the dancing began and everyone hit the dance floor to celebrate the first event in Sarah and Shervin’s wedding month.

We wish you the best Sarah and Shervin!

A quiet Sunday at Santa Monica Pier…yeah right!

On Sunday I photographed the sweetest couple, Elizabeth and Kyle. We started our engagment photos at UCLA. No, they did not go to school there, (they actually met at UCSB) but I really wanted to incorporate some architectural elements into the shoot and so I chose the Italian Renaissance style buildings on the campus. The light is great there and it was a beautiful spot to start our day. After a few shots at UCLA, we headed to Santa Monica pier to catch the sunset. Let me tell you, Santa Monica Pier on a Sunday in August….not so quiet! But we used the hustle and bustle of the pier to our advantage and Elizabeth and Kyle were great sports. I had them kiss in the middle of the large crowds and some rowdy tourists kept making cat calls the whole time. It was pretty funny! The day was gorgeous and I had so much fun and we got some pretty awesome shots. What a great way to spend a Sunday. Thanks Elizabeth and Kyle.

Judy and Zak’s intimate Santa Barbara nuptuals

On Saturday I traveled back up to picturesque Santa Barbara for a wedding. This time it was the wedding of Judy and Zak. It was a small wedding, only about 12 people held at the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse. It was beautifully sweet and very personal. Their family and friends gathered around them in a circle and it was so touching to see their parents holding hands and embracing one another. It is ceremonies like these that remind people of the love they once shared on their own wedding days. Since the wedding was such an intimate affair, dinner was later in the evening and it gave Judy, Zak, and I a chance to meander around Santa Barbara and get some really amazing photos. We were able to capture a ton of different looks because we had a few hours together. It was heaven for a photographer! Judy and Zak are adorable together and I was so honored to be a part of such a fabulous wedding. I wish you both the best of luck.

Cruz’n up Hwy 1 to Julie and Rafi’s wedding…

This past weekend I headed to Santa Cruz to photograph the wedding of Julie and Rafi at Chaminade. This gorgeous retreat is located in the Santa Cruz mountains and has stunning views of the Monterey Bay. It was the perfect day for a wedding with warm weather and crystal blue skies. Julie and Rafi were engaged not far away and so getting married in Santa Cruz was a natural choice. The day was so relaxed and Julie and Rafi were able to really enjoy their family and friends who came from all over the country to share in their wedding weekend. Rafi and Julie have a great sense of humor and I caught myself laughing out loud (and I have a very LOUD laugh) several times with some of their silly behavior…For example, just take a peek at the last picture and you’ll understand why I couldn’t contain myself.

Congratulations to Julie and Rafi. We wish you a long, healthy life together with never ending laughs!

Some details from the day.

At the reception, Rafi and one of his groomsmen suprised Julie with a duet of Tell Me Why by the Backstreet Boys. It was hilarious and brought the guest to their feet in applause! I’ve never seen anything like it and Rafi gets our award for Best Perfomance at a Wedding!!! Encore! Encore!

Valley Club of Montecito Wedding

On Saturday Charity and I photographed the wedding of Mary and Craig in Montecito at the gorgeous Valley Club of Montecito. The club is tucked away into the hills above Santa Barbara and it was the perfect setting for a woodsy yet beachside wedding. Mary and Craig are avid outdoors people who love to hike and bike and share a love for triathalons. They are “Ironpeople” having both competed in the Ironman Triathalon, so you can imagine how important it was to get married in the perfect outdoor setting. Well it was just that….perfect! Mary looked so naturally beautiful with her hair full of gardenias and Craig was her perfect match in a very sleek pin stripe suit and paisley tie. Guests celebrated their marriage into the night with tons of dancing, goofy photos in the photo booth, and nibbles of candy at the “help yourself” candy bar. Now it’s off to Mount Blanc for Mary and Craig to go conquer another adventure in the French Alps for their honeymoon! We wish you all the best guys…..
