Andrew and Riley at the Wayfarers

» Tammy

On Saturday I was so excited to see Andrew and Riley again for their wedding at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. These two have had quite a lengthy engagement. They’ve been together since high school so this has been a long time coming. I’m so glad that I got to be a part of their day. They are so much fun and so unique so it was only fitting that they got married in a glass chapel. They also had a Marie Antoinette theme so most of their details were adorned with feathers and of course vibrant candy colors. It really was a fabulous celebration for all. I was so touched by their loving family and genuine friends. A few of the speeches at the reception had me shedding a few tears. I’m so happy for the two of them. Congratulations you guys!

Jimmy and Valerie at the Hacienda

On Friday I met Jimmy and Valerie in Santa Ana to photograph their wedding day. This was a special pleasure because not only is Jimmy an old friend but he is also a fellow photographer. We started the day at the Old Courthouse which is where they got their marriage certificate. It’s a beautiful structure and a wonderful place to shoot. And check out how cute Jimmy and Val are… all smiles these two! Then it was off to the Hacienda where the ceremony took place followed by the fun filled reception. I had such a great time hanging with their friends and family. I wish both of them the best of luck in the future. Congratulations you two and aloha!

Sara & Josh Share the Love at the Nixon Library

I think most people will agree that when their mom sets them up on a blind date no good could possible come of it. However this past Saturday Sara and Josh silenced the myth when they tied the knot three years after their mom influenced blind date. The proud mamas were beaming as they watched Sara and Josh exchange personal vows at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. I teared up as Josh vowed to be Sara’s husband and best friend for life. After the ceremony guests roamed the grounds and museum as we played around taking photos. Sara and Josh and their parents orchestrated such a beautiful day. The evening’s highlights were gorgeous flowers from Stems florist, a massive candy buffet (yummy), and an oh so cute cake provided by Jason’s Catering. The guests boogied down late in the evening to the tunes of Invisible Touch. Everyone was having such a great time I didn’t want the night to end. Congratulations to Sara, Josh and their moms on a match well made!

The ceremony took place overlooking the beautiful grounds.

Sara and Josh honored their matchmaking moms with a rose ceremony.

I am a HUGE fan of funky footwear. Sara and the girls donned pink all stars while Josh sported the traditional black. So cute!

The reception was decked out in chocolate brown and pink details. My fav…the adorable cake of course.

And the award for best dressed guests go to…

Susan and Michael’s day of photos

Today I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Susan and Michael. We wanted to capture the look of vintage/romantic so we headed to UCLA to utilize the archways, columns, long hallways, and expansive garden areas. After grabbing a few shots on campus, we made our way to Union Station to take care of the vintage part of our shoot. It is such a great location because of the building’s history. It was built in 1939 and is known as the “Last of the Great Railway Stations”. All I know is that the lighting in the courtyards is phenomenal and Susan’s skin simply radiated in the photos. Michael didn’t look too shabby himself and he was quite the arm candy for Susan! This is one great looking couple and I love how the photos turned out! Now I can’t wait to see how gorgeous the two of them are on their wedding day.

Drew and Jerry in the LBC

On Friday I met Drew and Jerry here in Long Beach to photograph their engagement photos. They live in Long Beach and love the city so it made perfect sense to do their photos here. We hit a lot of the hot spots. We started at Shoreline Park then headed over to the boardwalk by Parker’s Lighthouse, then headed to the beach and finally wrapped up in the East Village. We had such a great time exploring together and collaborating on fun shots. These two are fabulous! They are so adorable together and look great in front of the camera. I’m really looking forward to shooting them again at their wedding which will be held at the MOLAA… more fun shots!

Gay Weddings by The Knot

» Jenny

One of our long time favorite wedding websites The Knot has launched a new site promoting gay marriages called www.gayweddinsbytheknot.com. We were lucky to be asked to submit images from some of our same sex weddings and a few photos from Adam and Stew’s wedding were featured.

We want to applaud The Knot for being progressive and realizing the need for equal treatment of gay weddings.

Here are some Red Loft Studios images from Adam and Stew’s wedding.
