Ashley and Matt’s Sunshine Beach Wedding

» Jenny
Jenny

I recently photographed the wedding of Ashley and Matt at Shutters in Santa Monica. It was such a great wedding to be a part of. Both the bride and groom were so relaxed and calm. It really set the tone for a fantastic day. Ashley had the most gorgeous dress with the cutest silver flower embellishment. Matt was just as dashing in his classic black suite and personalized cufflinks. The day could not have been any more perfect either. The sky was a beautiful blue and the weather was the most even keeled I’d seen it in weeks. Ashley and Matt were brave enough to hit the Santa Monica pier and walk around with all of the tourists. It was hilarious to see everyone taking photos of them! They were such good sports and I really love the playful photos of the two of them on the boardwalk. They are naturals in front of the camera and they swore to me that they weren’t! Congratulations you guys and thanks for having me as a part of your day!

Baby Mia’s Red Loft Studios debut

» Jenny
Jenny

Former Red Lofters Jeff and Margaret came on down to introduce me to their very first little bundle of love, Mia. She is a real cutie patooty. She giggles and smiles all the time. It was so great to play with Mia and remember how sweet 6 months is. My own little son has hit the 17 month mark and let me tell you, he does not sit still. With Mia I was able to take a ton of pics because she doesn’t go anywhere!!!  I feel so honored to be able to capture some photos for the West family photo album. Until next time little Mia!

Stephanie and Jacob’s engagement session at the beach

» Jenny
Jenny

On Monday I headed out to photograph the engagement photos of Stephanie and Jacob. We started out in Venice at Abbot Kinney where we strolled the streets and utilized the colorful background of the buildings. Stephanie and Jacob are so much fun together. They were twirling around and making funny faces the whole time. It was definitely easy to photograph these two together! After we left Venice, we headed out to the Santa Monica pier. We walked around the games, hit up the hot dog on a stick, jumped on the swings and then walked along the boardwalk. It was a great way to spend the day and get to know these two better. I’m looking forward to being a part of their wedding day in July!

Shideh and Nick at Racho Las Lomas

» Jenny
Jenny

Last Friday I had the pleasure of being a part of Shideh and Nick’s wedding day at Rancho Las Lomas. It was such a gorgeous day and both the bride and groom were such a joy to work with. They are so in love and it’s one of those weddings that you are a part of where you just smile all day. You can see how much they love each other in the way they look at each other. Their ceremony was beautiful with all of the traditional Persian rituals. They sat at a table adorned with an elaborate spread consisting of a mirror which represents light and fire, large decorated flat bread which brings prosperous feasts, honey and crystallized sugar is to sweeten life, and gold represents prosperity. My favorite part of the ceremony was when two pieces of crystallized sugar (shaped like cones) are rubbed together, a symbolic act to sweeten the couple’s life together. The second part of the act is where two parts of the same fabric are symbolically sewn together with needle and thread. It was a beautiful ceremony and the reception was just as fabulous. The room was filled with people who traveled from all over the world to help them celebrate. Nick is from Australia so there was a huge contingent of people who traveled thousands of miles! Nick toasted Shideh towards the end of the night and it was one of the sweetest most heartfelt speeches I have ever heard. I am so happy for the two of them and I wish them all of the best. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday Adam

» Jenny
Jenny

I recently had the pleasure of being a part of Adam’s 13th birthday celebration…his Bar Mitzvah. The Bernstein family holds a place in our heart since a few years ago Katie photographed older brother Corey’s Bar Mitzvah. They have such an amazing family and it is a joy to be around them. Adam is quite extraordinary for a 13 year. He is extremely gifted in the arts. Not only did his singing during the Bar Mitzvah blow me away, but so did his dancing at the party after the ceremony. I also found out that he is a well known actor. He has appeared in several hollywood arenas including numerous Burger King commercials and he even appeared in one of my favorite movies, “Funny People”. So you’d probably think he was a spoiled brat, right? Well, he’s just the opposite. He is kind, thoughtful, loving, charming, gracious, and above all he loves his family. He was very appreciative of the hard work his family had put into such a beautiful event. I have to admit that I cried during the ceremony when Adam’s parents spoke about what a wonderful son he was. It made me think of my own son and how one day I hope he would feel just as loved as Adam is! Mazeltov Adam!

After the ceremony, everyone headed to The Mark for some good food, good music, and of course fantastic dancing!

The yummy ice cream bar.

Jennifer and Fred in Pasadena

» Tammy
Tammy

Last weekend I met up with Jennifer and Fred in Pasadena to photograph their wedding. And I know we say this about all our brides but I just can’t help it… Jennifer was absolutely stunning! She looked gorgeous in her strapless dress and just plain radiant. Fred was quite the dashing groom as well and together they made a fabulous pair. They decided to have their pics taken beforehand so we headed over to City Hall. This place is awesome with long walkways and giant archways to play with. And it didn’t hurt to have such a playful wedding party either. These folks were fun and just down right having a good time. Afterwards we headed over to the First Congregational Church for the ceremony. What a gorgeous church! And the perfect setting for these two to exchange their vows. Right after the ceremony Jenn and Fred held a Paebaek; a traditional Korean ceremony where they dressed in traditional Korean attire and celebrated the joining of the two families. How cool is that! These two then wrapped up the evening at the Westin with a throw down party. This group likes to have a good time and knows how to do it well. It made me wish I was a guest. A big congratulations to Jennifer and Fred!
